“Are you or someone you love dating a banker? If so, we are here to support you through these difficult times. Dating A Banker Anonymous (DABA) is a safe place where women can come together – free from the scrutiny of feminists– and share their tearful tales of how the mortgage meltdown has affected their relationships. So if your monthly Bergdorf’s allowance has been halved and bottle service has all but disappeared from your life, lighten your heart with laughter and email your stories to dabagirls@gmail.com. Warning all stories sent will be infused with our own special brand of DABA Girl humor.”  http://www.dabagirls.com/

Founders of Dating A Banker Anonymous

Megan Petrus and Laney Crowell

Megan Petrus and Laney Crowell were both seeing men who worked in financial services when all of a sudden the economy took a turn for the worst, as did their relationships. Their ‘other-halves’ became distant as their job security became less certain and they were no longer willing to splash the cash and afford their girlfriends with the lifestyles they had become accustomed to.

Frustrated and lonely, Petrus and Crowell turned to their many female friends for support and realised that they weren’t the only ones being deprived of love, attention and lavish gifts. Women all over the city of New York were in a state of crisis due to the economic downturn, their FBFs(Finance Boyfriends)were more concerned with clinging to the careers that they had carefully built over time than they were with treating their female counterparts to the latest Chanel clutch.

Megan and Laney knew that there was nothing women found more staisfying than complaining to a sympathetic ear and so they set up ‘Dating A Banker Anonymous’ late last year where the wives and girlfriends(both past and present)of men who worked in the financial services could come and vent their anger about the current state of the economy and the effect that it was having on their relationships. It wasn’t long before the blog was inundated with comments and last month the site www.dabagirls.com was viewed by one million people. The girls have become celebritites in their own right and they were recently approached about signing book, television and movie deals.

Here is a perfect example of the kind of post seen regularly on Dating A Banker Anonymous:
